How to Use Lemons To Prevent Browning

Have you ever cut an apple in small pieces for your kids and then five minutes they don't want to eat it because they turned brown? Or what about preparing a dish for a party that contains apples or avocados ... how do you keep it turning from brown before your party?

The ANSWER is ...

Lemon Juice on Apples to Prevent Browning

Yes a lemon or lemon juice keeps fruit from browning. I've used it on apples and avocados ... I hate eating brown avocados LOL.  I normally just squirt the lemon juice on the apple slices. Others have actually soaked the apples in water and a 1tbsp of lemon. I have found that rubbing the lemon juice on the apples work great and if you leave to sit for a few minutes the lemon juice gets absorbed and you won't even taste it. I have to use this all the time to get the kids to eat their apples if they don't eat the entire thing in one day.
